For Maharashtra State Government job seekers, the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) State Service Exam (also known as the MPSC Rajyaseva exam) is one of the top tests. Every year, the MPSC conducts a recruitment drive to fill positions in the various branches of the Maharashtra State Government’s administrative ministries. MPSC Selection Procedure 2024:

Candidates must pass each level to advance to the next stage. The MPSC state services exam, like all other State Public Service Commission and UPSC exams, is conducted in three stages, which are:

  • Stage I: Prelims.

MPSC Preliminary Exam Pattern 2024:

Before proceeding with the course, aspirants should review the MPSC Prelims Exam Pattern. MPPSC Preliminary Exam Pattern: This stage exam consists of two required objective papers. Check out the detailed exam pattern and details for the MPSC preliminary exam. Both papers are two hours each.

Important points:

  • Candidates who qualify for the mains exam will be based on their marks from both examinations.
  • Both Paper I and Paper II get negative marks for all incorrect answers.
  • There will be no negative grading for unaddressed questions.
  • There is a negative marking of 1/3 of the marks assigned to the questions in Papers 1 and 2. Paper 2’s decision-making questions do not have negative marks if answered incorrectly.
  • The MPSC Prelims are screening in nature.
  • To qualify for the main exam, candidates must earn a minimum of the commission’s marks.
  • Except for the questions designed to evaluate the candidate’s English skills, all questions are set in English and Marathi.

MPSC Mains Examination Pattern 2024:

MPSC Mains consists of six obligatory papers. Papers I and II are language papers, whereas Papers III, IV, V, and VI are general studies papers. There are no optional subjects in the MPSC Mains. Candidates can find the MPSC Mains Exam Pattern in the table below.

  • History of India and Indian National Movement.
  • The physical, social, and economic geography of Maharashtra, India, and the world.
  • Maharashtra and India – Politics and Governance, including the Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Urban Governance, Public Policy, and Rights Issues.
  • Economic and social development topics include sustainable development, poverty, inclusion, demographics, and social sector initiatives.
  • General concerns in Environmental Ecology, Biodiversity, and Climate Change that do not require subject specialization.
  • General Science

MPPSC Prelims Paper 2 Syllabus

  • Comprehension
  • Interpersonal abilities, particularly communication skills.
  • Logical reasoning and analytical skills
  • Decision-making and Problem-solving
  • General mental ability.
  • Basic numeracy (numbers and their relationships, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level); Data Interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency, etc., Class X level)
  • Marathi and English language comprehension skills (class X/XII level) Questions about this will be examined using excerpts from the Marathi and English languages, with no cross-translation provided in the question paper.
