Who Is Eligible For The Ayushman Bharat Card?
Not every citizen of India is eligible to avail of benefits under the Ayushman Bharat Card. Indian Government launched this program in 2018 to help needy citizens by providing relaxation up to 5 lakh in healthcare.
This scheme aims to help citizens in having proper treatment without the pressure of money.
Before applying for the Ayushman Bharat Card, citizens need to check the eligibility criteria given by the government:-
- Candidates belonging to the SC/ ST category.
- Candidates who come under the BPL (below poverty line) category.
- Candidates who have low income i.e. annual income below ₹ 2.4 lakhs.
- Candidates families who do not have earning members above 16 years of age.
- Candidates who do not have permanent residence address.
- Candidates who are listed in the PM-JAY beneficiary list.

To claim the benefits provided in this scheme, eligible citizens need to apply for the Ayushman Bharat card. Applying for the Ayushman Bharat Card can be done through the online portal.
Citizens will have to fill out the online form and wait for the authority’s approval. Once the application is approved, citizens will be issued a health card and a receipt which allow them to receive free treatment up to 5 lakh at empaneled hospitals in the country.
Steps To Apply For Ayushman Bharat Card
- To fill out the online form for the Ayushman Bharat Card, visit the website.
- On the homepage, select the ABHA- registration button and use the Aadhar card.
- The site will verify your Aadhar Card by sending OTP to the registered phone number.
- Enter the received OTP to verify the Aadhar Card.
- Enter other information asked in the process of applying.
- After submitting an online application, wait for the approval of the application.
- Once the application is approved, the Ayushman Bharat Card can be downloaded from the website.
- To download your Ayushman Bharat Card, visit the website again and enter your Aadhar number to generate OTP.
- After submitting your generated OTP, you will have access to the digital copy of your Ayushman Card.
- Download and take the printout of the Ayushman Bharat Card.
