BPSSC SI Notification 2024 – Vacancy, Registration Fees, Eligibility

BPSSC SI Notification  – The Bihar Public Subordinate Service Commission is yet to release the notification for the Bihar Police Sub Inspector Recruitment. Notification is expected to be announced by the end of 2024.

After the announcement of notification by BPSSC, the registration window will open for approximately 4 weeks. Interested candidates need to register for posts in the given time period.

Vacancies For The Post Of SI under BPSSC

While the official notification is still awaited, vacancies are estimated to be around 1500 posts. In the previous year, there was a total vacancy of 1275 posts. Vacancies get divided according to categories.

Registration Fees For SI Application

General/OBC/EWS and aspirants from states other than Bihar will make a payment of ₹700.

SC/ST/Female candidates will pay an amount of ₹400 for registration.

Eligibility Criteria For SI Under BPSSC

Candidates applying for the post of Sub Inspector under BPSSC must go through the criteria given by the authority:-

  • Candidates must have acquired a Bachelor’s degree regardless of stream from a recognized University.
  • The age limit for males is between 20 to 37 years.
  • The age limit for females is between 20 to 40 years.
  • An upper age relaxation of 3 years is applicable for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
  • Both male and female candidates need to achieve the physical requirements asked by the authority.

Exam Pattern For BPSSC SI Posts 

Candidates are required to clear the examinations conducted by BPSSC. While the notification about the exam date is still to be announced. The exam is conducted in two phases: Preliminary and main examination.

Prelims will be conducted through offline mode. The exam paper duration will be 2 hours. There will be a total of 100 questions each correct answer carrying 2 marks while 0.2 marks are deducted for each wrong answer.

The minimum qualifying mark is 30%marks of the total. Qualified candidates will appear for the Mains examination.

Mains paper will also be conducted through an offline method. There will be 2 papers. Paper 1 is Hindi which will be a qualifier with 30% marks and Paper 2 will be General Studies. Each paper will contain 100 questions, marking the same pattern as Prelims.
