UGC Net Application Form 2024 Last Date – This year National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting its UGC NET examination on 18th June 2024. Recent news is about the extension of registration dates.
Extension In Registration Form Date
UGC Net extended its last date to fill out the application form. The registration date for this exam was extended twice in the month of May. At first, the last date given to fill the application form was 10th May 2024 and then it got an extension up to 15th May. And now authorities have extended the registration date till 19th May, 11:59 PM.
Extension In Exam Dates Of UGC NET
Earlier UGC NET exam was scheduled to be conducted on 16th June of this year. But on the same date, UPSC is also conducting its UPSC civil service exams, so the UGC NET exam date gets postponed to 18th June 2024.
Mode Of Examination For UGC NET
Since 2018, NTA has been conducting UGC exams. For the first time since 2018, exams will be conducted through offline mode. The National Testing Agency will hold an exam through the OMR method and will be conducted in a single day.
Interested candidates qualifying for this exam will get a chance to apply for the Junior Research Fellowship, Assistant Professor, and PhD admission through this exam.
Correction Window For Candidates
UGC NET will provide a correction window for candidates from 21st May to 23rd May 2024. Registered candidates will be able to make edits to their details which are mistakenly filled wrong. After this given time period, candidates will not get any chance for correction.
Eligibility Criteria For Candidates
- General/unreserved/ General EWS candidates must have at least 55 percent marks in their master’s degree obtained from a recognized university by UGC.
- OBC belonging to the noncreamy layer/ SC / ST / PWD / Transgender should have at least 50 percent marks in their equivalent examination.
- Candidates appearing for the final year exam in their master’s degree are also eligible to register for the exam.
- Final-year candidates will be admitted provisionally. They will be eligible for assistant professor only after they obtain 55% ( for the unreserved category) or 50% (for the reserved category) in their examination.
