MPSC Syllabus In Marathi – The MPSC exam is conducted every year to hire officers for various state administration departments under the Maharashtra State Government. The MPSC Syllabus and Exam Pattern for the year 2024 cover numerous topics that are important to examine the knowledge and skills of individuals who want to be employed in the diverse administrative responsibilities in the state of Maharashtra.

The syllabus normally contains sections on General Studies, which cover areas such as Indian politics, economics, history, and geography.

How The Exam Is Conducted

The MPSC exam is conducted in 3 stages: the first stage is the preliminary round, the second stage is the mains exam, and the final stage is the interview round. It is important to know that the syllabus for prelims and mains rounds is different. The syllabus and marks for each round are given below:-

Stage 1: Preliminary Round

  • The MPSC prelims exam is the first stage of this exam. It consists of two compulsory objective papers which are paper 1 and paper 2, both of which are of 2 hours each.
  • Paper 1 consists of 100 questions, and the total marks allotted are 200, and paper 2 consists of 80 questions with total marks of 200
  • For all incorrect answers ¼ of the mark is deducted, except for the decision-making section in paper 2 has no negative marking if the answer is found incorrect.
  • All the questions for the candidates are set in English and Marathi language, except for the questions which are set to test the english language of the candidate.
  • It is compulsory for the candidate to score the minimum marks set by the commission in this exam so that they can move to the next round.

Stage 2: Mains

  • The Mains exam is the second stage in evaluating the candidate. There are a total of 9 papers that a candidate has to answer in this round, and the total marks are 1,750, the qualifying marks are 600
  • There are seven compulsory papers, which are Essay, General Studies I, II, III, IV, and optional papers I & II., each of maximum 250 marks. The time duration for each paper is 3 hours and the medium of language is english or marathi.
  • There are two qualifying papers with 25% marks, which are the language papers : paper I – Marathi and paper II – English. Each consisting of 300 marks. The medium of language for paper I is compulsory Marathi, and for paper II, it is compulsory  English. These are objective-type papers and there are negative markings. 
  • It is important for the candidate to attempt all papers to qualify for the next round.

Stage 3: Personal Interview

  • The final stage of this examination is the interview round, where the candidate is assessed on the basis of their personality, body language, and confidence. 
  • The interview stage consists of 275 marks.
